David E. Kelley: ‘Wonder Woman’ Reboot Still ‘Viable’ for TV

-2011-a-pDespite the failure of his NBC effort, the “Monday Mornings” showrunner wishes the CW luck with its prequel, “Amazon.”

David E. Kelley may not have had much success with his buzzy yet failed NBC pilot Wonder Woman, but he believes the CW can find success with its prequel project, Amazon.

While the CW’s Amazon is in development and in the early stages of casting despite its lack of a proper pilot order, Kelley admits he made mistakes with his Adrianne Palicki (Friday Night Lights) starrer and wishes he had more time to right the ship.

Speaking to The Hollywood Reporter at the Television Critics Association’s winter press tour, where he was there to support his new TNT medical drama Monday Mornings, the prolific producer said he thinks the DC Comics character remains a viable property for a small screen reboot.

    Do it smart and Amazon could be great. But make it into a predictable, silly girlie melodrama..forget it!
