Breaking news! Warner Brothers shaking up their TV production unit- is Smallville Finished?
Thanks to SpoilerTV some big news broke today- Warner Brothers is moving the production of Fox’s prime time show Fringe to Vancouver from New York due to changes in the tax incentives that New York was giving the studio. SOURCE
My question- does this mean they are expanding things in Vancouver or are we about to learn that this is indeed the last weeks of Smallville and Fringe will be using the tremendous studio and soundstage space that Smallville now uses in Vancouver? Is there anyone in B.C. who has heard anything?
We have not heard anything in weeks about Warner and the CW’s possible renewal of either Smallville or Supernatural- though they are the highest rated shows on the struggling network. Both Jensen Ackles and Jared Padalecki were candid in recent interviews that Eric Kripke has a plan if the show is ending this year. We have heard that showrunners Swimmer and Slavkin from Smallville will be producing the new Melrose Place- but all other news had gone radio silent. If we don’t hear about a renewal soon- I suspect we may start hearing about a series finale in April. There has been no news as of yet about the season’s final two episodes.
