Power delivers a return to Smallville Season 7 and the Producers Crap on the Superman Mythos Again

Official OSCK REVIEW by OSCK Moderator Baudyhallee

THIS EPISODE IS NOT SANCTIONED BY OSCK!

Okay, I watched after hearing the wailing and gnashing of teeth of fans who watched the trainwreck air live.sm813-0019

I’m a bit emotionless right now. Don’t know if that’s a good thing or not . . . BUT this episode was the epitome of why OSCK was created. We literally saw Clark lose his balls and his brains right before our eyes. No logical or emotional reason in the world would ever make Clark Kent make the decision he made at the end.

The writers obviously were not going to miss another opportunity for Clana sex, much to everyone’s disbelief and dismay.

It was a typical Blahna episode straight out of 2nd half season 6 and all of season 7 — why anyone in their right minds would want to revisit that tripe is beyond this fan’s imagination — and I’ve got a fairly huge one.

Blahna makes bad decisions and everyone thinks she’s being manipulated and kidnapped and victimized. Ho hum. So boring. When in actuality she is a victim of her own making. So she’s got this suit — I’d rather trust Lex with it, thank you very much. At least we know where he’s coming from. This broad is so schizo she doesn’t know who she is — quits the training that would have let her find that out — because she decided it was time to get all the power possible. And then she grabs onto alien technology to transform her body to be invincible. Still doesn’t deal with her moral core, her mental and emotional lack of strength.

Blahna has always siphoned power from the men in her life. Look at Whitney, Clark, Lex, etc etc etc. She’s a vampire. The only reason she wanted to be invincible is because then she could siphon off Clark forever. That is not love. That is not being who you are or who you were meant to be. She wants to write her own destiny but she’s incapable. She’s too much in a hurry and wants her idea of an instant fix. So she trained for what . . . a few months. Bruce Wayne can tell you that is not enough.

She and Clark are going to save the world together. Not with her moral scruples! Just because you’re invincible doesn’t give you the wherewithall to protect and defend others. You have to be selfless for that — and if this episode taught us anything — Lana is not selfless. Clark is in a world of hurt if he’s hellbent on protecting Lana from herself. She’ll resent him for it and as powerful as she is now — may show him how powerful she is. She’ll look at him with disdain as she did in WRATH.

Two things are happening here. We are seeing the return to Season 7 that PS3 were creaming themselves about — they said they wanted to give Lana a good send off and closure. Well, did they have to damage Clark Kent in the process. What am I saying? The reason OSCK was formed was because PS3/Goughlar couldn’t see the forest for the trees. By putting the focus on Lana in this show, it detracts from Clark Kent in a HUGE way. We’re back to wimp ass Clark after 10 episodes of a resolute Clark. The contrast is astounding and a bit shocking. Pimp slapping fans is not a wise choice. Making Clark ball-less again does not make us like Blahna anymore.

The DP roof kiss was a direct scud hit to every mythos, Lois and Clois fan — the fans that were watching this season and giving it great ratings this season. Guess what PS3? These are the people you’re going to have to woo to get any kind of ratings for the last 8 episodes. I hope Blahna and KK was worth it, cause it’s like Black Tuesday — people are literally leaping out of windows off websites and in the comfort of their own homes because of your lack of respect for the mythos.

Blahna sex next week doesn’t surprise me (the third fukk is always the charm, right?)– when she wanted to be invincible in the previews I figured it was another use of the loophole.

The Clana relationship is doomed. It’s not star crossed or heart breaking. It’s sick. Blahna literally changes herself so she can be with Clark — and so NO ONE really knows who Blahna Blang is. Most especially Clark. As a character she’s everything and she’s nothing. She still has no personality. She’s an emotional power vampire who just feeds and manipulates so she can feed some more.

Contrivance is probably a compliment.

PS3 better pull out a miracle with REQUIEM or the other 8 episodes are going to appear . . . well let’s just say. If you have a strong Lois and a wimp ass Clark . . . that doesn’t work.

I hope PS3 realizes that if they don’t fix this — they are denying a generation of the mythic Clark Kent and Lois Lane and their powerful iconic relationship.

Rating: A must skip at best.

Still won’t be watching REQUIEM live. Life is easier that way and since Lois is back in the comics (except for Johns’ authored stuff) then I can read about what I love most and best — and I would have given that love to Smallville, but they obviously don’t want it.

Their loss.

I was dissapointed to see lana back in clark’s love life. Their relationship should have stayed buried in season 7 and not surfaced in season 8. The next episodes better have great story lines that involved lois or else I will destroy all of my Smallville dvd collections.
