How to Register Your Complaints with Smallville’s Showrunners

January 30, 2009

I sent out an e-mail to all OSCK members- and am sharing the contact info here for any of the rest of you who wish to register your complaints over the bastardization once again of Clark Kent on Smallville in the name of the glorification of Lana Lang.

SEASON 7 IS BACK! Did you feel bile roll up into your throat when Power aired? Can you believe the return of wimpass Clark in order to allow Lana her place of wonder? Pissed off?

If you missed the episode- Holli’s review is up on the OSCK blog and in our forums

You can write to PS3( the Smallville producers) by sending an email through the CW website’s feedback/ comments link.

http://cwtv.com/feedback/comments

Those emails are sent on – there are people assigned to handling all of that mail. Deluge them with notes of disgust and let them know you won’t be watching the next episode and how disgusted you are and how offended you are.

OSCK was founded to let the powers that be know how pissed we were about the devolution of Clark Kent- it is time for us to rise up again and let them know what we think!

Post your comments in our forums to let other OSCK members know what you have sent in and give them ideas.

Cheers- though none for PS3 today- they get big fat BOOS from this crowd!

in my opinion the last five episodes with lana and clark were brilliant and i for one love the chemistry between KK and TW.I have watched the show from season one to eight because of clark and lana and will not be interested after KK leaves. The best show so far thanks to the originality and wonderful actors like TW,KK and AM.

Well there hasn’t been any chemistry between TW and KK for several seasons at least. TW damn near quit in season 7 because it was the same ole same ole crap they made Clark spat.

The Blahna character is not the Lana Lang of the comics. She was not Clark’s best friend, Chloe was. So basically they took one comic character and and made it two tv characters — thus allowing them to do anything they wanted with the character. And they did exactly that — threw any kind of garbage at their audience they could. Yes, Blahna is the center of the universe and she must be praised or she’ll have a snit and scream, “Secrets and Lies!” or “Lex! did it!” I say good riddance to an abominable character. Be gone, Blahna. Stay on the other side of the universe with your radioactive self — you were killing Clark Kent long before you ever got into the fiery fishtank.

Now can we get on with the REAL Clark Kent story? Please!

The last five episodes were the lowest point of this show. Requiem killed not one, but two superheros. Ollie is now a killer and Clark is a hypocrite going back and forth in his view about killing.

And don’t get me started on the crapfest that was Lanaville. Instead of real closure, they once more throw this garbage they call writing at us, expecting the audience to believe such a lame excuse as for the reason Land and Clark can’t be together. Where they that desperate to bring back KK they doubled her salary and hired a two year old to write her arc?

Smallville writers disappoint me. They have the potential to strike gold every week, but in the end we are left with the worst kind of manure.

I watch this show for 2 reasons. Erica Durance’s Lois Lane and Tom Welling’s Clark Kent. When KK ditched Smallville, they kept the show afloat and worth watching with their amazing chemistry. Not only that, Clark was making remarkable strides in becoming Superman. The focus was on his journey as a superhero-in-training.

Too bad Lana had to come back and derail everything. Every character was made to look bad just to glorify her. She’s toxic. I’m just relieved the dreadful SuperLana arc is finally over. I sincerely hope season 8 can get back on track and put the focus on building up Clark Kent as a hero.

As an episode “Requiem” was the worst bit of drivel I’ve endured since Smallville premiered. If what I just read above is true and the producer’s had to double KK’s salary to get her back for these 5 episodes I suspect her agent and she realized the” powers that be” considered her appearance a huge asset in terms of guaranteed viewers which translates into advertising $$$$$$.
If that is the case they would also know to attempt negotiation of a storyline that would reinforce KK’s new movie role as a superhero, which if it went well might encourage more people to see her in her “Streetfighter” flick.
Lord knows this wouldn’t be the first time this sort of thing was attempted. Bette Davis made the film “Jezebel” in an attempt to push herself for the role of Scarlett O’Hara in Gone With The Wind. It became known as the most expensive audition in movie history.
I hope it is not true and KK did not stoop to conquer her career. If she did engage in this self serving and self centered career move it didn’t help her from what I saw and it damaged the storyline for the eighth season of Smallville.

II’m really sorry when I see people saying that they like episodes like these. It only proves that Clana fans don’t know the first thing about Superman and the hero. It’s a shame that some cheap, lame relationship between two disfunctional and immature people should be showed as something great, epic.

I don’t know how KK fans can like this horrible arc for Lana’s character. She has always been a woman with no morals, no values or principles. She does what suits her, manipulates and steals whenever she wants and has no qualms about killing people, but the last two episodes took this to a whole new level. I don’t see how this character can be anyone’s role model. If KK’s fans support this massacre of the character she portrayed, then God help them.

As for me, as a Clark Kent/Tom Welling fan, I am completely dissapointed in his character. He didn’t question Lana’s wrongdoings even once? She’s back and they’ll just hop into the bed whereas Clark was about to kiss someone else before Lana returned. What about that woman? What about a modicum of dignity Clark?

KK won’t return to the show and her fans, who weren’t interested in anything else but this dysfunctional and twisted ship won’t watch but what about the fans who loved Clark as a character? Who wanted to see him grow? A complete failure.

I never bought that KK-TW had any chemistry. The relationship itself is so superficial that you cannot ever believe or invest in it, and I guess niether do the actors. Specially in S7 and in this arc, Tom actually looked bored. I feel sorry for him to have his character written so badly during this arc. And they ruined Chloe and Oliver too. Just in order to justify Lana’s crimes?

Lana has no importance in Superman story and even on this show, the harder the PTB tried to shove down our throats that Lana must be loved, the more the fans hated her. Why not, they haven’t given us one reason to love this self centered, psychotic character.

Thanks for motivating people for this campaign Kate. PTB need to know that no one endorsed this crap.

Baudyhallee, it’s funny you say that this Lana Lang isn’t the equivalent of the Lana Lang in the comics, Chloe is. I think you are absolute right. Chloe is much more the girl next door type and she is also closer to the comic character in that Lana’s love for Clark was always greater than his feelings for her. She was always more of a best friend to him. In that case, I think SVLana is closer to the comics Lori Lemaris. Clark loved her enough to ask her to marry him but it was a physical constraint (the fact that she was a mermaid) not love that prevented them from being together. SVLana’s return even mirrors to some degree Lori’s reappearance after Clark and Lois were a couple (they may even have been engaged already) because it definitely set back Clark and Lois’s relationship. Of course, despite the tragic end of Clark’s relationship with Lori, he had no trouble finding deeper and truer love with his true soul mate, Lois. And Lori? Even more of a minor character in the Superman universe than Lana is. So I guess that makes me a Chlana and Lari theorist.

As for the ending of the Clana relationship all I have to say is I’d be really angry if I was a Clana fan. Forget the fact that they have to turn Clark into a dolt and regress his character in order to make him take Lana back (which says something about how functional the relationship is). No, they turned Lana into exactly the thing her detractors have always said she was: a poison to Clark that sucked the powers and life out of him. That would make me very happy if it was my ship. Not!

This was the worst episode of Smallville to date. They killed Clark in order to prop up Lana. They killed Ollie because he had the guts to stand up to Lana in the episode. This wasn’t Clana closure. This was Lana closure. Lana once again ended the relationship and Clark was literally left on his knees. The only people who enjoyed this crap are the ones who don’t repect Clark Kent. Not Superman, but Clark Kent.

Hi every one. I am publishing the comments that I wrote on the CW Website:

Hi my name is Ricardo Henrique Oliveira and I am fan of Smallville since the season 3.

The reason why I am writing this letter it is because, equal to a lot of Smallville fans, I am starting to become frustrate with the show.

In them Comic Con 2009 event you had said that you will write stories for the season according to the Superman Mythology.

I watched the episode last night and I liked the direction that was taken to explain the season 8 events and the way you introduce the season 9 events. But, will Clark actually fly in this season? After seeing the last night episode, at least for me, become clear that the reason why Clark is not flying is because he is falling in love for Lois.

Jor-El said to him that he is passion it is he is great strength but also he is great obstacle.

How you are going to work with these ideas and when Clark will start flying? You could at least make him start learn flying and with in time, make him learn the ability and make it natural for him.

Another thing that I have been reading on Smallville forums is the following question:
    • How you will portray Clark turning into Superman without everybody recognizing him?

How will you treat this situation? I think it is about time that he has to use glasses.

Like others fans, I think that you will not accept my suggestions and will continue to drive the show as you were driven before.

I only hope that what I have written, in some way, make you start caring about the fans thoughts about the show.

    Best Regards,

    Ricardo Oliveira
