Smallville News Roundup, Profile on the Legion of Super Heroes Coming to Smallville

Today’s Smallville news roundup is all about the new kids coming to town- the Legion of Superheroes will be landing in Smallville in the next new episode set to air on January 15, 2009.
BuddyTV has an article this week with the casting news on the new teen team. The three heroes coming to town are the three original founding members of the Legion of Superheroes.
Instant Star’s Alexz Johnson has been cast to play Saturn Girl. Instant Star is the same Canadian series that Laura Vandervoort ( Kara Kent, Supergirl) was cast from. Saturn Girl in every incarnation is a super powered telepath who is named Imra Ardeen.
Lightning Lad aka Garth Ranzz – well his powers are self explanatory. The red headed actor
Calum Worthy has been cast to play the electric character- if he looks familiar to Thursday night viewers, he was in the Supernatural episode with the magic wishing fountain- he played the invisible pervert.
The final member of the Legion team is Cosmic Boy – Rokk Krinn. Cosmic Boy is being played by Ryan Kennedy – another Canadian TV actor- seen in the series Whistler. Cosmic Boy’s power is the ability to manipulate magnetic fields.
The spoilers surrounding the episode have the Legion sent back in time to correct some great wrongs. The Legion is very close to Superman and has visited Smallville at various times in the comics. Speculation is that not only will they help wipe out either Doomsday or Brainiac or both- or they 
may help Clark with his powers and maybe to get him into his costume.
Smallville fans would like to see Clark don the glasses so his identity as Clark Kent is set so that when Superman finally makes an appearance he won’t automatically be seen as Clark Kent. This season has been all about seeing the mythos of Superman and the story of Smallville line up.

se we have been waiting and waiting for that will finally happen! In the comics- the Legion teaches Clark to fly- but Clark gives them all a lesson in morals and ethics. Clark has been back on the track of being the voice of right in his friends’ lives- he has been lecturing Oliver, and Chloe and even keeping Lois on track ethically, much as Jonathan Kent did for Clark. Clark has had some major lessons to provide every member of the Justice League when they have come into his orbit so this would be in line with what we have seen during the history of Smallville.
