1975 Interview with Jerry & Joanne Siegel

Supermanhomepage has 3 mp3 files of an interview that was done with Jerry & Joanne Siegel in 1975. Their daughter, Laura is with them, too. You might remember Joanne and Laura mentioned in the recent lawsuit decision over copyrights with Superman.

In 1975 Murray Bishoff and Alan Light (founder of Comics Buyer’s Guide) interviewed Superman co-creator Jerry Siegel at the San Diego Comic Convention. Joining Jerry for the interview were his wife Joanne (original model for Lois Lane) and their daughter Laura.

The audio interview was recorded and the unedited recording runs over 30 minutes, and is presented here for the first time ever in its complete format.

Jerry and Joanne talk about the early days, discuss Joe Shuster’s failing eyesight, Joanne recalls her first meeting with Joe Shuster, both get quite emotional about the hardships they had to endure, and much more.
